About UsWe are an unschooling family of four - me (mom), Mallory (13), Aven (11), and Caleb (9). We started out in public school then homeschooling and finally found unschooling to be a perfect fit. We practice consensual living - practice being the key word! And we are interested in finding ways to promote peace and justice for all people. Because we believe the root of violence is fear, and the root of fear is ignorance, we are planning a project that promotes peace through participation in other cultures. We are going to travel from Virginia to the tip of South America, taking care to stop to experience different ways of life and developing relationships along the way. As a shy person, this last part will be the biggest challenge and one of the most important aspects of the journey.
