If I have an audition problem, can I still learn how to speak correctly?

It´s assured there are many ways to improve our listening.I have a listening problem and I know if I practice, and listen carefully to the teacher's pronunciation, I could overcome this problem. However it's not so easy for me.Because of it I need your help!

well, first of all let me tell you that your picture is very nice and original, about the links that you have here i wanna tell you that are very interesting, i was practicing the passive and i understood it better, since now i'm gonna practice here the new topics whenever i need. congratulations miss,but you should put more topics, quizzes and listennings to practice, those really help us.

well,i totally agree with you that when we hear something we learn more,and i need to tell you that i have a little audition problem ,but since i´ve begun to listen more frecuency songs in english with the letter i´m able to reconized the sounds of words which have similar pronuntion ..
so miss what can i do to improve my listening and pronuntion ? i know that my pronuntion isn´t good too...i hope i will recive your help------

ehh and u know, learn to hear its so kind of dificult thing! but not impossible :), i enjoy hearing teacher voices, cuz every one has different entonation, and maybe kind of pronuntiation, and the difference makes you ears more adaptable to changes in the pronuntiation :)

First I want to congratulate you because your blog is very nice! I definetly agree with you that Everything we know is by the hearing. That is something that I have learned since the elementary school.I think that the best way to venture to speak english is by listening it.For expample listening music of simple plan, a famous american rock group,I love them!and also could be trying to understand american sitcoms without reading the subtitle, that improves your pronunciation and makes you the master in english!! = )

Hi miss!! Well I want to say that you are right when you assert that we learn how to speak english or other languages by listening songs or conversation. For example we learned how to speak Spanish because when we were children, we listened our parent’s conversations or the songs in the radio.

Well, i totally agree with you!..i should admit that when you hear something you are learning you dicover new thigns like pronuntiation , meaning and somethings like that,but that is not enough for us!I think that practice is the best way because with that we improve our language,that nowadays is not unknown for us...Now that i understand more english i try to improve my languange by listening tu music with lyrics in english and watching tv,in the same time is funny!....

I'm also completely in accordance with his point of view, we must learn to listen to be able to understand completely the message and this way to learn little by little how pronouncing correctly words or sentences in other language. it is important and necessary to open well our ears!!! jajaja. First of all, happy mother's day dear miss.I'm totally agree with you because hearing is very important to learn another language also the grammar is helpful. From my own experience I think movies can help you a lot using the subtitles and listening carefully the pronunciation. Moreover you can use lyrics of songs you really like them.

from my experience to be cofidence you have to conquer your fairs so you will able to get everythings that you really want,just do it by yourself.one advice I can give you is to join to a social group and try to doin social activities with them and somethigs like that to be more sociable so you will able to broke the limit of comunication.

well, i know for sure that listening is very important to learn. For example, in my case it's difficult to get the correct pronounciation of many words and sometimes i have to listening twice or more times in order to get the correct pronounciation.

Hi Miss. Well, another way to learn english, is by practicing in our house.For example Learning a new word every day is a good way to improve our vocabulary. Speaking constantly is the best way to improve your pronunciation, and if you don’t have partners in your dialogue, doesn`t matter!talk to yourself, even if that Sounds really crazy, But if you can’t be crazy sometimes, you won`t improve your English speaking skills. Finally If you don’t take advantage of every opportunity, because you are afraid of making mistakes, you won`t improve your skill rapidly.

I am sure that the best way to improve our english is talking with some partner everyday, because when you talk frequently with someone it help you to improvements pronunciacion, the other way to improve our english is listend to engish music;:;:;: how it improve your engish?...... it help us to learn new words, improve our vocabulary and finally, improve the listening.

Due to the recent increase of exportations, most companies requiere personnel with advanced knowledge of the english language. In my case it´s very important that I know this languague because I´m management assistant. I believe that listening english music or watching videos I can improve my vocabulary and my pronunciation.

They say that imitating is a way to start acquiring the the right, or at leats acceptable, PRONUNCIATION and the ACCENT we wish of the language we’re studying.

However, the studies say (you’re teacher has been attending to teachers’ trainings) that what we think we say is not necessarily how it should sound. In fact, you may have heard that the voice we project sounds different for us to the one the people who is listening to us can hear.

So, TAPE YOURSELF! :-)) I did it in high school, and at first it was frustrating and sometimes embarrasing but a great way to really know myself when speaking in English and see improvement (if I worked on that rather than accepting the stuff I heard... very latin and shy). You can do it with the audios from your icpna cd’s, or if you have interviews to your favotite singer, you can try pretending to be them and press rec to listen later to the new Freddy Mercury/Gwen Stephanie!

Noel, yeah, teachers’ voices and accents may be quite ot similar around here. So, taking advantage of it is wise, I usually practice waking my ear up at the teachers’room... the misterious lounge of all ages and origins!

Have u tried American sitcoms like Wendy? Tell me the ones you like to see if I can get them taped for the future.

Intonation exercises? Icpna has always given them to you, like the rising voice for: Do you like soccer? And the falling one for: What happened here? You might have realized by now that being aware of how good our grammar comes out makes our speech slow and flat... boring huh? Solution a: write first, then say a couple of times before u participate, solution b: sitcomssss!!

Socializing in English can be possible at volunteers shelters where foreign people come to help building houses in the poorest neighborhoods. Why not sign up for a day and meet an Englsh speaker? I dare u! %:^0

miss first of all ,let me tell you that you page is a good way to understand some grammar ,but you should do more than two grammar in order to have a good knowledge about english and listening any conversation in english i think it helps you to improve your fluency and how to pronunce correctly....

Hi!! Sitcoms are a good way to improve our English skills, I want to share my experience with you, I use to watch charmed (when I had cable), and now I realize that some of the phrases that I listen in that sitcom are part of my vocabulary. That is true, although you don't believe it.
For example this phrase: lucky me. I learned my lesson. I have got to be more careful!!
I realize that I use that phrase when I make a mistake (more that two times a week).
Unfortunately I don’t have cable anymore, but when I have free time, I try to search sitcom pages, for example I’m reading some episodes of lost and I’m learning new words.

Hi Miss. It's true that we can learn more about English watching sitcoms. I usually watch sitcoms, drama series and movies. On mondays I like to watch "Cold Case" because for me it's interesting the idea to solve a crime that happened some time ago and also the music that is played while a scene is shown, is really good.

There are many ways to improve our english. To me, the most important thing is by practicing every day. Another way is by being in touch with English speaker persons and reading a lot of books.

From my experience, I can say that if you stop studying probably you may forget some grammar and words. For this reason, If we have the opportunity to study ...We must do it!

Hi miss, I'm juana again.
Today, I have been cheking the ling of the exercise in passive voice. I find it very useful and suitable in order to practice gramar.
I wanted to chek all the page but I wasn't be able to do it because my boss came again, however I got to do all the exercises of the firs link (Passive voice). Firs I tried to imagine the answeres for after to select the answer. These exercises helped me so much because in some case I wasn't sure about the answer.
I'm going to chek this page again tomorrow and I going to do more axercise when my boss is going to be in his endless meeting

Miss, this cycle is a little complicated, i don't like verbs. i have a trauma :( when i was in high school (last year) my language teacher told I had to lear all the moods and tenses of the verb in order to get 20 in mi final exam. one dey before the exam i tried to memorize them.while i was studing I noticed i dont know how to conjugate the verb during a daily conversation; actually at this moment i felt like a ignorant person... unfortunately i got 12 :(
