The Tsomgo Lake in Sikkim is a holy lake worshipped by the sikkimese. Tsomgo (Changu) lake is hardly 20 km away from the famous Nathula Pass and about 400 km from Lhasa. A small temple of Lord Shiva is built on the lakeside. Primula flowers and other alpine plantation grow around the Tsomgo Lake, which has an average depth of 50 ft, provides a pristine beauty to this place. A footpath along the Tsomgo Lake takes one to a resting shed - a walk of about half a kilometer. During the winter months the Tsomgo Lake becomes frozen. Summer Holidays Comes!!! And my family starts planning for vacations. So!!!! This summer we decided to go to Sikkim for holidays. We always take help of internet to search our destination. When I started to read about Sikkim, there were many surprises in store.

After surfing, reading & getting some good suggestions, we settled for Darjeeling, Gangtok, Pelling, Yuksom and Siliguri!!!! We decided to go Darjeeling from Siliguri through heritage toy train. It’s a different and romantic experience.Darjeeling is famous for Tea Gardens. There are 70 tea gardens in Darjeeling hill region and the most accessible one is the Happy Valley Tea Estate, which is about 3 km from the town or within a walking distance of about 40 minutes.Sikkim is also famous for its adventurous treks and activities. So we decided to do some adventure activities there like water rafting,Yak Safari, Mountain Biking…!!!! Wow it’s a different experience.

We booked our tickets well two months in advance, but we started planning and hotel booking only one two weeks before. At last we got site sikkimhotravel.com through which we planned our entire trip to Sikkim.
