The Words I Never Want to Hear

Beloved child 

You did not know Me at all.

For if you knew Me

My ways would be written in your heart.

Your life would have been a reflection of mine.

Instead your selfishness has blinded you to My promises

Like the Israelites I came to show you the Promised Land 

All abundance of life was before you

In fact it was in you by the Spirit I gave you,

For freedom you were set free to live

To live in My promises

By the power of the Spirit of God.

Still, you chose to be bound by your unbelief, 

Bound to your fears and tradition.

When have I ever been bound in those ways?

You have been controlled by man, 

For it is man you fear.

You have chosen your king

And he will rule over you and your children with a harsh unforgiving hand.

I lived to give you life and liberty

Meanwhile you took freedom and life from those I placed in your care

You choose to live by traditions 

Concerning yourself with rules and regulations

Judging each other’s actions and words while ignoring the heart

My Word pours out life and freedom

So why did I hear and see your need to control and kill.

I heard you speak the words that I have written, 

I even saw the fruits of your labor.

Still each twisted word reflected your self serving desires

You blindly choose to bind yourself and others with lies and double talk

Providing the means to gain authority and position for yourself

The exploitation of my Word and my people I could not bear to witness

I burned with anger at your rebellious heart

You chose the chains you wore

Attempting to gain what looked good in your eyes

You chose the safety of what you already knew

Worldly power and authority are yours

But what I wanted to give you was so much more.

You have praised my name with emptiness

Worshiping at will for selfish pleasure

Your heart swells with prideful piety

Sacrifice and submission elude your hardened heart

You have poured contempt for me over my beloved children   

You did not know me at all.

You strove and worked in vain My child

My provision and promises you refused to accept

If only you had turned to Me

Waited for Me….

Listened to Me…..

And rested in Me….               

If only you had believed I alone am sufficient….

If only you had known Me My precious child……

You would have known life and liberty without limit or end…..…
